The founder of Empower has been an early childhood teacher for ten years. A mum for five.

“It was around 2019 when things started to change for me as a parent and then empowered me as an educator. I still remember sitting down with my team that afternoon for hours talking about what is important, what we value and what are we trying to achieve”

It was then we knew our approach to children’s early learning years needed to pivot.

We want to spend more time savouring each days valuable moments, experiences with your child and building their foundations in the preparation to transition to primary school. So, all our decisions are guided by three core beliefs.
WE ARE REFLECTIVE
Being open and honest is who we are as individuals and as a team. Respectful - We will know your child’s interests, abilities, culture and experience. We will recognise that your child is a competent, capable person with individual rights.

WE DO EVERYTHING WITH MEANING
From the simple things to the more complex you can count on us to be passionate. Intentional – We will plan and act with purpose and care. We will document our intentions, and your child’s learning and development. Responsive – We will watch and listen for your child’s verbal and non- verbal signals and act promptly in ways that relate to what they tell us.

Safety, diversity and helping you is our highest priority. Predictable – We will behave in a way that is expected and consistent. Attuned – We will sensitively observe in order to join your child on their “inner journey” and be in harmony with them. We will focus on your child’s vocalisations, body language, and facial expressions in order to understand what they need, want and feel.
