EARLY CHILDHOOD NUTRITION PROGRAM
WE ARE FOCUSED ON THE HOLISTIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF EACH CHILD…
Health and nutrition is a top priority for us.
Empower features an inclusive menu of five delicious and nutritious daily meals created by expert dietitians and prepared by chefs. All meals present an opportunity for our children to learn about the importance of a well-balanced diet, guiding them towards lifelong healthy eating habits.
NUTRITION AT
EMPOWER.
A child’s first five years are crucial in developing healthy eating behaviours, exploring new foods and meeting nutritional requirements to help them grow and develop. Nutrition is also integral to improving children’s wellbeing, self-confidence, and ability to concentrate. Our holistic Nutrition Program allows children to take part in preparing and serving their meals and learn about the important connection between hygiene, physical activity, and healthy eating.
At Empower we believe in a flow of the day and employ gentle cues rather then a strict routine. An example of this can be seen through our meal times where we will play a tune to prompt children it is meal time. The cue allows children to develop self-help skills, including:
-
Eating to their own appetites
Communication of bodily needs such as thirst and hunger
Self-serving at mealtimes
Helping themselves to water and milk throughout the day to assist in healthy habit-building
Showing children how to clean up after themselves including scraping their bowls and placing clean bowls and cutlery in designated areas
Practicing good hygiene pre and post mealtime
ALLERGIES.
We are a nut aware service. We take allergies seriously. We supply substitute ingredients such as lactose free milk and ensure all involved are aware of the allergy. Please ensure you document any nutrition requirements on your child’s enrolment form and we will organise a meeting with you before your child’s orientation day.
SUPPORTING
YOU.
You will be able to view your child’s eating habits throughout the day on OWNA. We will also post recipes and hold information sessions about nutrition throughout the year.
